B5 Brass is formed with the mission to break new ground of excitement and beauty of brass music and bring enjoyment to larger audience, especially to our young audiences to let them explore the art of music making, Its repertoire covers a wide spectrum, ranging from Renaissance music to 20th century music, from jazz to funk. Realizing the importance of giving back to the community, B5 Brass has launched its “Arts Education Program” under the endorsement of the National Art Council of Singapore in year 2008-2010. B5 Brass has since created its own unique style of performance, reaching out to thousands of secondary school and college students I Singapore. Among numerous performances which have earned them great acclaims, B5 Brass has recently enjoyed a successful joint performance at the Crescent Girls’ School with Boston Brass, a world renowned brass quintet whom B5 Brass regards as good friends and inspirational mentors that are instrumental to the group’s development as a young emerging professional brass quintet. Besides serving in local scene, B5 Brass is also very sought after in the South East Asia Region. The group has been invited to hold masterclasses, recitals and concerts in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, collaborating with local music institutions. |
